INSTRUCTORChef McCoy designed and opened Horizon High School's Culinary Arts Program in 2018 as the district's and the school's first Culinary Arts Instructor. After almost two decades of serving students as a Counselor/Program Coordinator in both the college and secondary levels, Ms. McCoy fulfilled a personal love of Family & Consumer Science Education and completed a Teacher Ed. program at the University of Georgia, along with several years teaching CTAE courses. She also completed a Culinary Arts program in Desserts & Pastry at Auguste Escoffier Culinary Academy, as well as a Culinary Arts Endorsement Program with NWGARESA. As an active member of the American Culinary Federation, Chef McCoy has also passed both written & practical exams granting her status of Certified Pastry Culinarian (CPC). In addition, Ms. McCoy also possesses three graduate degrees respectively in Educational Administration & Supervision; Educational Counseling; & Public Administration.
Chef McCoy has two daughters, Simon'e & Samantha. Both married; One daughter recently received a Masters Degree in Business Administration, and the other served in the Navy, worked as a model and is completing her Bachelors degree.
